| Rodgers,
Sanders play for North all-stars By BARRY
BURLESON Two Marshall Academy basketball Patriots played for the North AA-AAA team in the Mississippi Private School Association (MPSA) all-star basketball game Saturday. Seniors Thomas Rodgers and John David Sanders competed, while their head coach from MA, Craig Dailey, was a coach for the North. Dailey said the North stars lost by five or six points, but we were picked to lose by a lot more since the South had the all-stars from MRA (Madison Ridgeland Academy) and Brookhaven. He said Sanders and Rodgers both contributed points and rebounds and got their share of playing time. Everybody played, and they all did well, Dailey said. J.D. hit a couple of threes, and Thomas had four or five points and got a lot of rebounds. The kids played hard a lot of team ball for an all-star game. Sanders also finished in the final six in the three-point shootout competition. The all-star festivities also included a slam dunk competition and a banquet. Each all-star received a t-shirt and a watch. The all-star games, which included girls and boys in the different classifications, were played at Millsaps. It was a good experience for everyone involved, Dailey said. Report News:
