EducationSchool children treated to wood magic By
SUE WATSON About 450 fifth grade students from Marshall County learned more about wood products, thanks to the MSU Extension Service. Presenters included Britton Hatcher and Thad Deloach with MSU. They provided exciting information about the characteristics and uses of wood, mixed with some tricks to keep the kids interested. Students from Henry, Potts Camp, Galena, H.W. Byers and Marshall Academy schools were recently treated to the Wood Magic Science Fair at the Marshall County Fairgrounds. The fair was supported by grants from Wal-Mart and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative, and by donations from the Marshall County Forestry Association. The Forestry Association has about 175 members, according to president Paul Calame. Report News:
