• NO SINGING New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy 72, Slayden, will not have their regular monthly singing Jan. 14, due to Watch Night service on Dec. 31.

• MEETING The Marshall County Republican Club monthly meeting will be held on Jan. 14. Elections for the board of directors for 2006 will take place at this meeting. The meeting will be held at North Central Power Co. in Byhalia at 10 a.m. Light snacks and coffee will be served. The public is invited to attend.

• MASS CHOIR CONCERT Kimbrough Chapel MB Church, 1181 Kimbrough Chapel Rd., Lamar, Sun., Jan. 15, 3 p.m. Rev. James W. Smith Jr., host pastor. Special guests, La Goshen MB Church of Rossville, Tenn.
