Authorities nab drug suspects

Three law enforcement agencies combined to make six drug-related arrests at an undisclosed location in Holly Springs last Friday.

Marshall County Sheriff Kenny Dickerson said the arrests were a joint effort of his department, the 3rd Judicial Narcotics Enforcement Team and officers with the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

Jarvis Brown, 25, Hwy. 178, Holly Springs, was charged with sale of controlled substance crack cocaine, conspiracy to sell and possession of controlled substance crack cocaine, Dickerson said. He is being held at the Marshall County Jail on a probation violation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the sheriff said, and awaits future court action regarding the recent charges.

Elvis Gatewood, 34, Old Hudsonville Rd., Holly Springs, was charged with sale of controlled substance crack cocaine and conspiracy to sell, according to Dickerson. He is being held for a bond revocation hearing by the District Attorney’s office.

“An effort will be made to revoke a previous bond and hold him without bond,” Dickerson said.

Kevin Harris, 31, West College, Holly Springs, is charged with sale of controlled substance crack cocaine, conspiracy to sell and possession of controlled substance marijuana, the sheriff said. He is being held on a $20,000 bond.

Mario Rooks, 21, West Street, Holly Springs, is charged with sale of controlled substance crack cocaine, Dickerson said. He is out on a $10,000 bond awaiting court action.

Melvin Greer, 33, Rolfing Road, Holly Springs, is charged with sale of controlled substance crack cocaine, the sheriff said. He is out on a $10,000 bond.

Latarius Evans, 24, Oakwood Cove, Holly Springs, is charged with sale of controlled substance crack cocaine, possession of controlled substance powder cocaine and possession of controlled substance marijuana, according to Dickerson. He is out on a $30,000 bond.
