Springs News By Henderson Milan Congratulations to Pastor James and wife on 39th wedding anniversary Worship service was held at Hopewell No. 1 Sunday Feb. 13, 10:45 a.m. with Pastor James calling to worship. Devotional service led by the deacons. Music provided by the choir. Bro. Ben Cole II led in Responsive Reading from Mark 7:17-23. Benevolent, tithes and offering received by the ushers and church officials. Mayor Andre DeBerry conducted altar call. Sis. Alberta Griffin recognized non-members, Hopewell No. 2 members. Hymn of the morning was I Love the Lord. Scripture was taken from Psalm 139, subject No Escape. Financial report was given by the clerk. Benediction by Pastor James. Hopewell No. 1s members birthdays in February are Sidney Govan, 7; Don Waller, 10; Mary Jane Faulkner, 14; Ms. Zinn, 15; Yvonne Pinson, 18; Beauty DeBerry, 18; Dayton Reed Jr., 22; Elesha Walton, 23; and Krystal DeBerry, 18. We sang happy birthday to all of them. Heroine of Jericho Court No. 14 met at the Library Feb 12. Hopewell No. 1 main Black History program will be the third Sunday in February. Pastor Ernest Jones and New Hope Baptist Church will be our guests. Congratulations to pastor and first lady Sis. Henretta James who recently celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary and he presented her with a bouquet of red roses during worship service.
