Happy New Year to everyone!
Pray for J.T. Gravatt who is having surgery. He is the husband of my cousin, Ernestine Watts Gravatt. They live in Memphis.

Correction — last week the piano player was listed incorrectly. I’m sorry about the name mix-up.
Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, in Laws Hill, celebrated Christmas with an old-fashioned Christmas service, at the old Laws Hill Church, on Dec. 17. Jerry Abbott, of Mt. Pleasant, presented the Christmas music. He was accompanied on the piano by Yvonne Taylor. Arnold Goode is pastor. Several from the community attended.
Ladies’ Auxiliary has items at reduced prices
Hello Snow Lakers: I hope you had a good week.
I don’t know of anyone sick to report on. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves, 224-3264.
The Snow Lake Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary still has a few sweat shirts (mostly very large sizes), and jackets at a reduced price, and cookbooks for $9.50. This is a good time to purchase these items - winter is here! They are on display at the Ashland Discount Outlet on Hwy. 4, Town Hall, or call Jane Edwards at 224-3435.
Well, our vacation is over. When you read this we will be at Snow Lake. I will probably be taking a nap, and my husband will be watching sports on TV. We really enjoyed letting someone look after us, feed us, turn the bed down, and entertain us.
Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006 - New Year’s Day - Celebrate!
Monday, Jan. 2 2006 - Town meeting ( call to confirm).
Remember, guests are always welcome to come to any of our events.
Also, remember, the Community Center is available for rental to Snow Lake residents for a party, etc; just contact Emily Koen, 224-8707.
Have a good week, and hope to see you next week.
Mary Milan celebrated her birthday Monday, Dec. 19. She received birthday cards, gifts, a dozen red roses; and lunch at the City Cafe. We wish her many more.
New Year’s Eve service will be held at Hopewell No. 2.
We are happy to have our college students and some military personnel home for the holidays.
