• CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE Emory Independent Methodist Church will have its Christmas service Sat., Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. There will be no services at Emory on Christmas Day.

• FILM “The Truth About Hip-Hop” will be shown at St. Mark MB Church, Dec. 30, 6 p.m. Every parent and child is encouraged to attend. This film reveals the truth about the hip-hop culture. Free admission, love offering will be taken with proceeds going to Elder G. Craig Lewis for EX Ministries. Refreshments will be served.

December 31

• WATCH NIGHT SERVICE Smith Grove MB Church, Dec. 31, with a fellowship hour beginning at 9 p.m. and service at 10 p.m. Chulahoma, Jeffries chapel, Mt. Moriah and Mt. Peel MB Churches will also be participating. Everyone is cordially invited.

• BROWN BAG LUNCH Friends of the Library, Brown Bag lunch, will meet at 11:30 a.m. in the Marshall County Library with a speaker at 12 noon. Bring a sandwich; drinks and dessert provided.

• MEMORIAL BREAKFAST The Marshall County NAACP memorial MLK breakfast will be observed Mon., Jan. 16, 8 a.m. in the Hudsonville CME Church fellowship hall. Rev. Bobby Wilson will be speaker.
