Eight-agency
sting nets arrests

Officers
with a number of law enforcement agencies fanned out over
the county Wednesday of last week serving arrest warrants
to over a dozen individuals, many of whom were charged
with the sale of illegal drugs, according to Sheriff
Kenny Dickerson.
Most of
those arrested were those who had been named as
defendants in grand jury indictments or were under
warrant for arrest from justice court, he said.
These
arrests are the results of several months of on-going
undercover operations, the sheriff said.
Authorities
were seeking 47 individuals who had outstanding warrants
and indictments. A number are still in custody at the
Marshall County Jail awaiting circuit court action and
others have made bond and wait for circuit court dates,
he said.
Those
arrested and charged included:
- Gerald
Anderson, 34, of the Olive Branch area, picked up
on a warrant charging the sale of a controlled
substance. He remained in jail Monday on $10,000
bond.
- Major
Brunson, 42, of the Byhalia area, served warrants
on two separate indictments for the sale of a
controlled substance. Brunson remained in jail on
those charges and on a violation of probation
charge with the Mississippi Department of
Corrections (MDOC).
- Sammy
Brunson, a.k.a. Sammy Brunson-Payne, 46, of the
Byhalia area, indicted and picked up on charges
of sale of a controlled substance. Brunson was in
jail being held on $40,000 bond Monday.
- Lee
Arthur Buford, 29, of the Byhalia area, charged
with sale of a controlled substance. Buford was
released on $20,000 bond.
- Brandy
Beesinger-Butler, 27, of the Byhalia area,
charged in an indictment with sale of a
controlled substance. She bonded out at $10,000.
- Antonio
Davis, 27, of the Watson area, arrested and
charged with the sale of a controlled substance.
He was released on a $10,000 bond.
- Ben
Flowers, 48, of the Watson area, charged in
numerous indictments with a number of sales of a
controlled substance. He remained in jail on
$30,000 bond Monday.
- Lakeshea
Guy, 31, of the Byhalia area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with the sale of a
controlled substance. She was released on $10,000
bond.
- Sandra
Harber, 53, of the Byhalia area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with possession with
intent to sell a controlled substance. She was
released on $5,000 bond.
- Rodney
Hardaway, 28, of the Watson area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with the sale of a
controlled substance. He remains in jail on
$10,000 bond.
- Kevin
Hardin, 22, of the Victoria area, arrested and
charged with the sale of a controlled substance.
He was released on $30,000 bond.
- David
Howell, 23, of the Laws Hill area, indicted for
burglary of an automobile and forgery. He was
released on $5,000 bond.
- Louis
King, 44, of the Chulahoma area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with sale of a
controlled substance. He remains in jail on
$10,000 bond.
- Michael
Longcrier, 36, of the Warsaw area, arrested and
charged with the sale of a controlled substance.
He remains in jail on $30,000 bond.
- Arvilla
Malone, 38, of the Victoria area, arrested and
charged with the sale of a controlled substance.
Malone remains in jail on $10,000 bond.
- Dontrell
Polk, 20, of the Victoria area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with the sale of a
controlled substance. He was released on $20,000
bond.
- Robert
Summers Jr., 56, of the Victoria area, arrested
and charged in an indictment with receiving
stolen property. He was released on $5,000 bond.
- Kenneth
Tuggles, 41, of the Chulahoma area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with the sale of a
controlled substance. He remains in jail on
$5,000 bond.
- Tavoris
Tunstall, 20, of the Victoria area, arrested and
charged in an indictment for the sale of a
controlled substance. He remains in jail on
$10,000 bond and with a hold from DeSoto County.
- Tolbert
T. Washington, 46, of the Watson area, arrested
and charged in an indictment with the sale of a
controlled substance. He remains in jail on
$10,000 bond.
- Eric
Webster, 35, of the Byhalia area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with the sale of a
controlled substance. MDOC has a hold on Webster
for probation violation.
- Anthony
Hope, 24, of the Victoria area, picked up on
violation of probation warrant from MDOC. Hope
remains in jail.
- Dewayne
Holloway, 33, of the Holly Springs area, picked
up on violation of probation charges. He remains
in jail.
- Johnny
Harris, 48, of the Cayce area, arrested and
charged in an indictment with sale of a
controlled substance. Harris remained in jail on
$10,000 bond.
- Bernard
Woods, 25, of the Holly Springs area, picked up
on a warrant charging violation of probation. He
remains in jail.
- Latasha
Stewart, 22, of the Holly Springs area, arrested
and charged with the possession of a controlled
substance in a correctional facility. Stewart was
released on $1,000 bond.
Dickerson
said others with outstanding indictments who have not
been arrested will be picked up during routine patrol
operations. Undercover investigations of drug related
activity are continuing with another roundup expected
during the summer, he said.
Agencies
participating in last weeks roundup included
officers with the Marshall County Sheriffs
Department, the Third Judicial District Narcotics
Enforcement Team, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics,
the Mississippi Department of Corrections, Alcohol and
Beverage Control, Byhalia Police Department, Holly
Springs Police Department and personnel with the District
Attorneys office.
