Snow Lake
News
By Sue Shears
Community is
saddened by death of local friends and neighbors
Hello Snow
Lakers: I hope you had a good week. We are still on
vacation and the warm weather is great. Hope this has
been a good week for you.
Regarding
the sick people on the lake I really havent heard
from them, but I hope everyone is much better. Laurie
Pierponts mother, Sara Pierpont died last week. She
leaves her husband John, daughter Laurie of Snow Lake and
a son, Ben Pierpont of Columbus, Ohio. They have been
living with Laurie the past several months. J. W. Carter
died last week. He leaves his wife Eunice Carter, a
daughter, Connie Fitzgerald of Memphis, a sister, Nancy
Funderburg of Calhoun City and a grandchild. Louie Word
on Lake View Drive died last week. He leaves his wife of
62 years, Kate Word, also three sisters, Clara Word
Overstreet, Elsie Word Brown, both of Snow Lake, Doris
Word Shields of Clarksdale, and three brothers, Ed L.
Word of Cumming, Ga., Raney Word of Hollywood, Fla. and
Charles Word of Clarksdale. Our thoughts and prayers go
with these families in the loss of their loved ones.
Please call
Sue Wooley Graves 224-3264. If you know of anyone sick or
who needs help. If you know of someone I have missed,
please call me at 224-3913.
Remember,
the Ladies Auxiliary of the Snow Lake Volunteer Fire
Department still has new Snow Lake Cookbooks for sale.
You can find them at Ashland Discount Store on Hwy. 4. Or
call Frances Simpson at 224-3469 or Jane Edwards
224-3435. We also have some Fire Department jackets $30
and $35, sweat shirts $12. You can find them at Ashland
Discount Store on Hwy. 4, and Town Hall.
We are
beginning a new year, so the Ladies Auxiliary of the Snow
Lake Volunteer Fire Department has begun new projects.
They will have their annual Garage Sale on Saturday, May
7 at the Ashland Discount Outlet Store on Hwy 5. If you
have something to contribute, please take it to the store
anytime they are open, or call Sue Shears 224-3913, or
Scelette Blake 224-9251, and we will pick it up.
Remember, guests are always welcome to come to any of our
events. Also, remember, the Community Center is available
for rental for a party, etc; just contact Emily Koen
224-8707.
