Cookbooks make nice holiday gifts

Hello Snow Lakers: I hope you had a good week. We had Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends, and lots of turkey, etc.

Please remember, the Community Center Committee is now preparing baskets for Christmas. They are asking for your help by bringing non-perishable foods, or money to complete the baskets. Thanks for your help!

We just heard Sunday that Elizabeth Ross’s mother died. She has been in a nursing home for a long time. She lived in Canada and Elizabeth is flying in on Tuesday to attend the funeral. We extend our sympathy and prayers to the Ross Family. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Graves, 224-3264. If you know of someone I have missed, please call me at 224-3913.

The Snow Lake Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies’ Auxiliary still has a few sweat shirts (mostly very large sizes), and jackets at a reduced price, and cookbooks $9.50. This is a good time to purchase these items - winter is here! They are on display at the Ashland Discount Outlet on Hwy. 4, Town Hall, or call Jane Edwards at 224-3435.

Remember Christmas potluck is also a week early - on Dec. 17.

We are leaving on vacation on December 2. We arrive in Santiago, Chili for a few days; embark the ship on Tuesday; On Thursday, we will visit Punto Montt, Chili, a seaside resort town. We will cruise the next couple of days seeing the islands of the Archipelago de los Chonos; the South American Fjords, Darwin Channel, The Canal Sarmiento, and the Chilean Fjords. More next week.

Coming Events:
Monday, Dec. 5 - 7 p.m. Town meeting.

Our Quote: From “Gentle Thoughts.” “Oh, what a little thing can turn a heavy heart from sighs to song! A smile can make the world less stern, a word can cause the soul to burn with glow of heaven, all night long.”

Have a good week, and hope to see you next week.
