Lady Patriots tip off season Basketball season is under way for the Marshall Academy Lady Patriots. The varsity and junior high girls are competing in the Delta Girls Invitational at Marks. Both the varsity girls, coached by Keith Taylor, and the junior high girls, coached by Craig Dailey, opened play in the tournament Monday against Lee (Ark.). With wins in the first round, the varsity Lady Pats play the Marvell-DeSoto winner Thursday, Oct. 27, at 5:45 p.m., while the junior high Lady Pats will meet the Tunica-Marvell winner Thursday at 4:30 p.m. With losses on Monday, the MA teams play again on Wednesday, Oct. 26 – the varsity girls at 5:45 p.m. against the North Delta-MHEA loser and the junior varsity girls at 4:30 p.m. against the Delta-MHEA loser. There are four games set for Saturday, Oct. 29, starting at 2 p.m. with consolation match-ups. The championship contests are set for 4:30 p.m. Saturday (junior high) and 5:45 p.m. Saturday (varsity). Next week, November 1-5, the varsity and junior high girls will participate in the Magnolia Heights Tournament. The MA boys warm up for the season ahead with the Lee (Ark.) Boys Jamboree on November 1. All Marshall Academy teams host Lee (Ark.) on Monday, Nov. 7, and then Tuesday, Nov. 8, they welcome Westminster School. Report News:
