Jets sign LeSueur Holly Springs native Jeremy LeSueur was added to the active roster of the New York Jets on October 5. The safety was originally signed to the team’s practice squad on September 13. He is number 31 on the Jets’ roster. LeSeuer, 24, was signed by Denver as a draft pick on July 27, 2004, after he was selected by the Broncos in the third round (85th overall) of the 2004 Draft. He spent his rookie season on injured reserve rehabbing a hernia injury and was released on September 3 of this year. The 6-foot, 204-pound safety attended the University of Michigan, where he recorded 170 tackles, two sacks, 27 pass deflections and three forced fumbles while playing in 50 career games from 1999-03. As a former cornerback at Michigan, he earned second-team All-Big Ten Conference honors his senior year. He also set a single-season record in kick-return yards (583) as a junior, while tying a school record with 26 returns that year.
