White Oak Festival this Saturday on Church St. It is sponsored by the Byhalia Sports Association and the Byhalia Lions Club. Activities will include arts and crafts, food booths, games, coloring contest, baby photo contest, displays, motorcycle show, kids’ area, raffles, entertainment and prizes. Booths are available on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved without payment. Concession booths have been filled. All other booth spaces are available for $25. motorists to encounter delays for 304 bridge work Beginning Monday, Oct. 10, crews will be installing bridge rails on Highway 304 over I-55 and motorists traveling on both the south and northbound lanes of I-55 should expect periodic delays. Beginning on the southbound lanes and alternating to the northbound lanes, traffic will be delayed briefly for 10-minute intervals. Work is expected to begin between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and should be completed by Friday, Oct. 14. Motorists traveling in the area are advised to drive carefully and observe all highway advisory signs. MDOT regrets any inconvenience this necessary work may cause. Harper Construction of Paducah, Kentucky was the low bidder on this project at a cost of $27 million. This project is part of the I-69/I-55 interchange. Harvest
Fest set for Oct. 29 in downtown Holly Springs There will be gospel singing, arts and crafts, food vendors, pony rides, merchant open houses and more. All businesses surrounding and near the square are urged to participate by decorating windows with a fall or Halloween theme, having sidewalk sales, giving away a prize that will require customers to come in and register, contributing toward a grand prize to be given away in a special 5 p.m. drawing.
