Fielder’s Choice

Teams need positive words

It’s easy to support a winner.

But really the teams that are losing need more backing.

I covered an 0-10 high school football squad one season years ago. It wasn’t easy, but I tried to put a positive light on each story. I didn’t miss a game.

Letter to the Editor

Community development:
Dear Editor,

The community needs development through the economic development council.

However, the state of Mississippi should consider more funds for our economic development council to expand projects further and quicker because everyone wants to blame somebody.

Well, people of this county have to come as one and start e-mailing the state legislature on the issues of further development in creating jobs, donate money to the proper offices in Marshall County, and being open-minded to change.

The change would be to build higher standards of business in this area of Holly Springs, but people do not put enough towards it. So, this is why we’re struggling for jobs. We have some well-qualified applicants still looking for jobs.

When will people realize to focus on these problems as citizens? They need to realize, we need to suggest ideas because this is why politicians are here for us. You can’t expect results now until people say something. So, when will this be? I hope it is very soon.
