  • Rummage sale, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. All proceeds go to the Watson Volunteer Fire Department. 1/2 mile west of Watson four-way on Watson Road. Follow signs. Rain or shine.

  • WHITE OAKS FESTIVAL Sat., Oct. 8, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Byhalia’s White Oaks Festival featuring crafts, food, games, activities for kids, raffles, entertainment, and prizes. Applications for booth spaces are $25 and can be obtained by calling 838-2806 (Janice) or 838-8147 (Brandy) or stopping by the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce office.

  • BAKE SALE Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will hold their annual bake sale at Wal-Mart, 8 a.m. until the desserts run out. We accept donations. Recruitment booth, parents invited to sign your child up, ages 8-19.

  • MEETING The Marshall County Republican Club will meet Sat., Oct. 8, 10 a.m. at Northcentral MS Power Assoc., Hwy 309 S., Byhalia. Speaker will be radio talk show host Mike Fleming. The public is invited. 252-5151 or 866-649-1866 for more info. Light refreshments will be served.

  • CLASS MEETING The class of 1967 will have a called business meeting, Sat., Oct. 8, 4 p.m. at Pizza Hut in Holly Springs. James Alford, chairperson.

  • SINGING New Hope Baptist Church Hwy 72, will be having a gospel singing Saturday night Oct. 8, starting at 7 p.m. Featured group will be The Disciples from Lexington, Tenn. Bro. Billy Adair and congregation invite everyone to attend. Fellowship supper following singing.

  • MEETING The Red Banks Cemetery Association quarterly meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Red Banks Baptist Church.

  • Singing, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Red Banks Rd., Sat., Oct. 8, with eating at 5 p.m., singing at 6 p.m. Williams Family from Wrenn, will be featured guests. Everyone is invited.

  • Fall Festival, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Sat., Oct. 8, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Church is located 2 blocks south of Hwy 72 and Hwy 311. Pony rides, moon walk, bake sale, cake walk, arts and crafts, fall decorations. Hot dogs, popcorn and homemade stew.
