  • MEETING The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the library, Thurs., Oct. 6, 6 p.m.

  • PTA MEETING Holly Springs High School PTA will meet Oct. 6, 6 p.m. in the school library. Everyone is invited to invest in our young people’s future. Come and meet the officers.

Friday

  • MEETING Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will meet at the Library, 1 p.m. Mrs. Laverne Jones, president. Time to pay local dues.

  • MEETING Hopewell No. 1 Church will have a conference, 7 p.m. Pastor James urges all members to be present.

  • Fish fry, Cayce Fire Dept., 30 Lee Creek Rd., at the station, Oct. 7, beginning at 5 p.m. Sheriff Kenny Dickerson and his crew will be cooking. Eat in or take out. For more info. call 851-7634, 851-7922 or 851-7384.

  • SECOND TIME AROUND The Marshall County Humane Society’s thrift store, Second Time Around, 126 W. Van Dorn, located next to Bailey Printing in Holly Springs, will be open Fri. from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 662-564-2900 for pick-up information on your donation.

  • Rummage sale, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. All proceeds go to the Watson Volunteer Fire Department. 1/2 mile west of Watson four-way on Watson Road. Follow signs. Rain or shine.

Saturday

  • WHITE OAKS FESTIVAL Sat., Oct. 8, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Byhalia’s White Oaks Festival featuring crafts, food, games, activities for kids, raffles, entertainment, and prizes. Applications for booth spaces are $25 and can be obtained by calling 838-2806 (Janice) or 838-8147 (Brandy) or stopping by the Byhalia Area Chamber of Commerce office.

  • BAKE SALE Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will hold their annual bake sale at Wal-Mart, 8 a.m. until the desserts run out. We accept donations. Recruitment booth, parents invited to sign your child up, ages 8-19.

  • MEETING The Marshall County Republican Club will meet Sat., Oct. 8, 10 a.m. at Northcentral MS Power Assoc., Hwy 309 S., Byhalia. Speaker will be radio talk show host Mike Fleming. The public is invited. 252-5151 or 866-649-1866 for more info. Light refreshments will be served.

  • CLASS MEETING The class of 1967 will have a called business meeting, Sat., Oct. 8, 4 p.m. at Pizza Hut in Holly Springs. James Alford, chairperson.

  • SINGING New Hope Baptist Church Hwy 72, will be having a gospel singing Saturday night Oct. 8, starting at 7 p.m. Featured group will be The Disciples from Lexington, Tenn. Bro. Billy Adair and congregation invite everyone to attend. Fellowship supper following singing.

  • PROGRAM Liberty Hill MB Church, southeast of Byhalia, will have a Holy Scripture program, Oct. 8, 6 p.m. Rev. Jerry Selvy Sr., pastor.

  • MEETING The Red Banks Cemetery Association quarterly meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at the Red Banks Baptist Church.

  • Singing, Emmanuel Baptist Church, Red Banks Rd., Sat., Oct. 8, with eating at 5 p.m., singing at 6 p.m. Williams Family from Wrenn, will be featured guests. Everyone is invited.

  • Fall Festival, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Sat., Oct. 8, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Church is located 2 blocks south of Hwy 72 and Hwy 311. Pony rides, moon walk, bake sale, cake walk, arts and crafts, fall decorations. Hot dogs, popcorn and homemade stew.   • GARAGE SALE Saturday, Oct. 8 - 8 a.m. Snow Lake Community Center’s Garage Sale in Ashland on the Square.

  • HOMECOMING Spring Hill Baptist Church, Waterford, will have their annual homecoming, Oct. 9. Services will begin at 10 a.m. with music. Worship service at 11 a.m. Fellowship meal will follow.   • HOMECOMING Isaac Chapel Church in Byhalia will celebrate homecoming, Sun., Oct. 9, 11 a.m. Rev. Willie Watts, pastor.

  • BIBLE STUDY Oct. 9-Nov. 20, First Baptist Church, Holly Springs, invites everyone to a spiritual growth study, “40 Days of Purpose.” Video and teaching during Sunday School at 9 a.m. and morning worship at 10:25 a.m. will go along with the at-home reading.

  • HOMECOMING Center Hill Baptist Church, 8787 Center Hill Road, Olive Branch, will have their annual homecoming on Sun., Oct. 9. Everyone is invited. Worship services, 11 a.m.; pot lunch will be served afterwards; a moon bounce will be available for children. The “Almost Famous Crains” (Carl & Helen) along with “The Bluff City Quartet” will be in concert after lunch.

  • Homecoming, Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Sun., Oct. 9. Sunday School, 9:30 a.m., morning worship, 10:45 a.m. Lunch in fellowship hall, 12 noon, House Family Singers, 1 p.m. Everyone is invited.

  • SLEEPOVER Friendship Assembly of God, Victoria, will have a Missionette’s sleepover, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Missionette’s ministry. The sleepover starts at 7 p.m., Fri., Oct. 14. For girls ages 4-18. For more info. call the church office. 838-4000.

  • REVIVAL Pastor Denise Anders-Modest and members of Anderson Chapel CME Church invite everyone to their fall, county-wide revival, Oct. 16-19, 7 p.m. nightly.   • GOLF TOURNAMENT Holly Springs Country Club, 4-Man Scramble. Registration begins at 12 noon. Shotgun start at 1 pm.  Entry fee $25 per person. All proceeds go to the Marshall County Relay for Life. For more information call 252-2841.
