Marshall Academy saw a 14-0 second-half lead vanish Friday night in the Delta.

Maholm shines in debut

Paul Maholm’s big league debut Tuesday night, Aug. 30, was a huge success.

The left-hander, beginning his professional career for the Pittsburgh Pirates, pitched shutout baseball for eight innings in Milwaukee. Pittsburgh won the game 6-0 before a crowd of 28,337 at Miller Park.

Hurricane Katrina causes schedule changes
