  • Awana at Red Banks Baptist Church. Every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Please call 252-2114 or 252-7570 for van transportation. We have lots of activities every Wed. night with game time, in the new family life center.

  • WOMEN’S CONFERENCE North Mississippi Women’s Conference “Your Time Is Now” with dynamic guest speaker, Mrs. Shirley Cook from Orlando, Florida.   • REUNION Sept. 2-4 there will be a reunion of all alumni of St. Mary’s/CADET/Holy Family School. If you attended this school and haven’t made reservations, time is running out. Contact Claude Vinson (252-2567), George Leggs (252-1028), Purvene Anderson (252-2977) or Lillian Campbell (252-7279).
  • PROGRAM honoring Fannie Lee Beard, Fri., Sept. 2, at Calvin Chapel United Methodist Church, 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to come and support her. Sponsored by the Marshall County Singing Union.
  • YARD SALE - Inside and out, 488 MLK Dr., New Hope Village (homeless shelter). Fri., Sept. 2, 7:30-4. All you can stuff clothing bags, $1; jeans, 50, 1/2 price on nice resale clothing, shoes, purses, sofas and chairs, $25-$40. Lots of household goods and small appliances.

  • BREAKFAST AND RUMMAGE SALE will be held at First Baptist Church, Potts Camp, beginning at 7 a.m.
  • REUNION All descendants of Estall Glass Faulkner and the late Annie Glass Craine will hold their annual family reunion Sept. 3 at the home of Eliza Mae Craine, Hwy 309 S, Byhalia. All family and friends are invited.
  • “Keeping The Legacy Alive” of Mother Lettie Moore and the memory of the late Lewis (Chick) Moore, Sat., 1 p.m. and Sun. all day. Come join in fun, food and singing. Rabbit Ridge Road, just off Red Banks Road, 851-7468.
  • SUPPORT GROUP Byhalia United Methodist Church hosts recovery and healing from the loss of a loved one due to divorce support group, 12:15-1:15 p.m. Light refreshments. Speaker will be Minister Melvin Shackelford. Contact Lena Holloway, 838-2296. This group will meet the first Saturday of each month with a new speaker.

Tuesday

  • FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY Brown Bag meeting, 11:30 a.m., will feature Marjorie Gerald of the Memphis Speakers Bureau. Her program begins at 12 noon and is titled “White House Stories.”

  • FLEA MARKET The Northwest Side Civic Club is hosting a flea market on Sat., Sept. 17 starting at 7 a.m. until. All venders are invited to set up a booth. Inside booths are $15 and outside are $10. Concessions will be open at 6 a.m. All proceeds will go towards the re-opening of the ball field. Call Sherry Moore, 662-526-5773 to reserve your booth. Inside booths are limited, so reserve today. The civic club is located just off Hwy 310, at the Piney Point sign, about 12 miles from Hwy 7 South.
  • FORESTRY FIELD DAY Marshall County Forestry Association will hold their 9th annual Forestry Field Day on Saturday, Sept. 17 in the northwest part of the county starting with registration at 8 a.m. Pre-registration is required by calling the Marshall Co. Extension Service at 662-252-3541 by Sept. 12. Events will include wagon tours of the Tree Farm with educational topics by specialists on Wildlife, Forest Fertilization, Hardwood Management, Management Practices in Thinned Pines, and Firewise. A keynote speaker will close out the activities.
  • SINGING Sat., Sept. 17, Clear Creek Baptist Church, Lamar. Fellowship, 6 p.m., singing, 7 p.m. Featured group, Picking Up The Pieces. Jimmy Curle and congregation invite all.

September 18

  • HOMECOMING will be held at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1580 Hwy. 309 South. Sunday School, 9:45 a.m., worship 11:00 a.m. Fellowship dinner after morning services, followed by preaching and singing. All are welcome.
  • FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY True Vine MB Church, 525 West St., Holly Springs, Sept. 18, 2:30 p.m. Pastor Rondias Cox and Mt. Peel MB Church will be guests. All are invited to fellowship with us.

September 19

  • MEETING Collins Hurdle Post No. 5697 and Ladies Auxiliary will hold their regular stated meeting on the third Monday night, 6 p.m. at the Post Home.
