Rates of application shall be as specified by State Aid Specifications.

Bid should include traffic control as specified by State Aid work order (s) shall be

issued for individual assignments and shall be completed within 45 calendar days of the date of work order.

BID PRICES ACCEPTED SHALL BE FOR A PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS, OCTOBER 10th , 2005 THROUGH OCTOBER 10th, 2006.

Sealed bids shall be received on each of the following items. Work order(s) shall be issued for individual assignments with payment to be made under the appropriate quantity unit pricing. Each work order shall be competed within 45 calendar days of the date of the work order.

Technical specifications for all material requirements, construction requirements and construction testing shall be accomplished in strict compliance with Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction. 1989 Edition, adopted by the office of State Aid Road Construction of the Mississippi Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration. The Marshall County Planning Commission will meet for their regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the Zoning Office at 590 Old Hwy 78 East, Holly Springs, MS. The public is invited to attend.

The following requests will be on the agenda:

Item 1: Diana T. White and Paula Ryan request to be allowed to subdivide Lot #20B of Cayce Acres Subdivision into four (4) lots of one and one half (1-1/2) acres each. The property in question contains 6.13 acres and is zoned R-2.

Item 2: David and Amy Cothern request to be allowed to raise quail on their property located at 6186 Highway 311. The property in question contains approximately twenty (20) acres.

Item 3: In June 2002, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver G. Marcum built a home on property owned by Mr. Marcum and his brother, Joe Marcum. The property is located at 211 John Mac Road and is Lot #3 of Coldwater Farms Subdivision and contains a total of 16 acres. In 2004, Joe Marcum and Oliver G. Marcum deeded Oliver G. Marcum an acre of their 16 acres, not realizing to subdivide required a special exception from the County. Therefore the Planning Commission will consider this request at their next meeting.

Item 4: Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Lewis at 85 Saddle Club Road are planning to place a new double wide mobile home on their property. They are requesting the Marshall County Planning Commission to allow them to keep the existing single wide mobile home for their children to be close by to help with daily tasks due to Mr. Lewis’ health. The property in question is located in Shangri-La Subdivision and zoned R-2.

Item 5: Mr. James Milan requests to be allowed to open a restaurant (take-out and eat-in) at the old Alve’s Place located at 160 Jamison Road. The property in question is zoned Agricultural.

Item 6: Mrs. Stephanie Hardin requests to be allowed to operate a beauty salon at 1371 Cayce Road (formerly known as The Burger Place). The property in question is zoned Agricultural-Residential.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPPER SARDIS WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

PUBLIC NOTICE NUMBER W10 3470

BAG LIMITS: Same as statewide bag limits.

 

PERMIT STATIONS: All visitors must obtain a DAILY VISITOR USE PERMIT card from a self-service permit station. Parts A and B of this permit must be legibly filled out before using the WMA. Part A of the permit must be deposited in the return box at a permit station before using the WMA. Part B must be displayed on the dash of the vehicle so that the name, address, and date are visible from outside the vehicle. Permits are invalid if not properly dated or if date has been changed. Before leaving the WMA, visitors must complete the reverse side of Part B of the permit and deposit it in the return box at a permit station. It is the responsibility of the Area Manager and other Agency personnel to have permit cards completed.

 

DEER DATA COLLECTION: All deer harvested on Saturdays must be checked at the WMA Headquarters before leaving the WMA from Nov. 12, 2005 - Jan. 31, 2006.

 

LEGAL BUCKS: Legal bucks are those with four or more antler points AND an inside spread of 12 inches or more. For hunters less than 16 years of age, one of the three buck bag limit may be any antlered buck.

 

SPECIAL BUCK TAGS: For research purposes, a limited number of special buck tags, which allow the harvest of bucks with at least one unforked antler, will be issued to hunters. To apply, send an 8 " X 11" piece of paper with your name, address, social security number and Upper Sardis WMA to Upper Sardis Special Buck Tags, Post Office Box 100, Enid, MS 38927. Only one application per hunter will be accepted. Applications must be received by Sept. 15, 2005 to be eligible for drawing. Hunters who are selected will be notified by mail. Tags must be attached to deer immediately after harvest.

 

DEER WEIGHT LIMIT: All antlerless deer must weigh a minimum of 65 pounds live weight to be legal for harvest. The average live weight of an adult doe on this WMA is 100 pounds. Any harvested antlerless deer less than 65 pounds live weight is an illegal deer.

 

DOG RESTRICTIONS: Deer hunting with dogs is prohibited. Small game hunting with dogs is allowed during any small game season. Hog hunting with dogs is allowed during daylight hours Feb. 1 - Feb. 28.

 

TURKEY HUNTING PERMITS: Turkey hunting from Mar. 15 - Mar. 27 is allowed by special permit only. To receive an application, send a self-addressed, stamped, letter sized envelope to Upper Sardis WMA Turkey Hunting Permits, MDWFP District 2 Office, Post Office Box 100, Enid, MS 38927. Only one application per hunter will be accepted. Completed applications must be received by Feb. 15, 2006 to be eligible for drawing. Hunters who are selected will be notified by mail.

 

LEGAL WEAPONS: Only centerfire rifles, shotguns with slugs, primitive weapons (as defined by Public Notice 2280.002), and centerfire handguns may be used for deer hunting. Legal weapons for small game hunting (excluding waterfowl) during daylight hours are shotguns using #2 shot or smaller and rifles or handguns no larger than .22 rimfire magnum. When hunting with a handgun, no other gun may be in possession. Only archery equipment and shotguns with #2 shot or smaller may be used for turkey hunting.

 

RACCOON, OPOSSUM, AND BOBCAT: During deer seasons, raccoon, opossum, and bobcat hunting is allowed without dogs during daylight hours and with dogs from one-half hour after sunset until 4:00 a.m.

 

OFF-ROAD MOTORIZED VEHICLES/ATVs: Off-road vehicle use will be governed by U. S. Forest Service and U. S. Army Corps of Engineers regulations. For additional information, contact the Forest Service at (662) 236-6550 or U. S. Army Corps of Engineers at (662) 563-4531.

CAMPING: Camping allowed in designated U. S. Forest Service campsites according to Forest Service regulations.

 

BEARS: Black bears may occur on this WMA. They are federally protected as a threatened subspecies. Hunting or disturbing bears is prohibited. Please report any bear sightings on your daily visitor use permit.
