Education

Business visits classroom
Jose Manuel Aguirre and Mario Salinas, owners of “Mi Pueblo” restaurant in Holly Springs, visited Denise Gholson’s first grade students at Holly Springs Primary School and talked about their country and the differences in cultures. They brought hats and blankets from Mexico for the students to see. Mrs. Gholson provided snacks and treats.

Food drive
Holly Springs Primary students and staff members participated in a food drive for the Marshall County Community Development Corp. (MCCDC) food pantry. The class that brought the most food items in each grade level won a free day out of uniform. Pre-K and kindergarten winners were Mrs. Spight’s and Mrs. Campbell’s class with a total of 92 food items; first grade winners were Mrs. Mitchell’s and Ms. Griffin’s class with a total of 122 items; and second grade winners were Mrs. Dominick’s and Ms. Marion’s class with a total of 52 food items. There were 998 food items contributed from all the students and staff members. Mrs. Byers and Mrs. Campbell, coordinators of the food drive, thank all the students, parents and staff members for their participation.
