BASIS OF AWARD

The award, if made, will be made to the lowest qualified bidder on the basis of published quantities.

The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprise will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS are on file in the Office of the Chancery Clerk of Marshall County, the County Engineer’s office and the Office of the State Aid Engineer, 412 Woodrow Wilson Avenue, Jackson, Mississippi. This project shall be constructed in accordance with the latest edition of the Mississippi Standard Specifications for State Aid Road and Bridge Construction.

PLANS AND PROPOSALS may be secured from Larry L. Britt, County Engineer for Marshall County, Mississippi, P. O. Box 308, Oxford. The Cost is seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for plans and thirty dollars ($30.00) for the proposal, non-refundable Certified check or bid bond for five percent (5%) of the total bid, made payable to Marshall County and the State of Mississippi must accompany each proposal.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Marshall County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing during their regular scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 11, 2005, at the Marshall County Zoning and Planning Office at 590 Highway 178 East, Holly Springs, Mississippi. The Commission will hear a rezoning request from Williams Land Company. The property (parcel # 247-25-60) is located at the corner of Highway 302 and Clark Road (north side of Highway 302) and is presently zoned R-E. The request for rezoning is as follows: 50 acres to C-2, 66.16 acres to C-1 and 55.03 acres to light industrial. The Commission will make a recommendation to the Marshall County Board of Supervisors in regard to rezoning (the decision to rezone is a decision that is made by the Marshall County Board of Supervisors.) The public is cordially invited. The Planning Commission meeting is at 2:00 P.M. and the rezoning hearing will be at 3:00 P.M.
