Landscape Society deserves thanks
Hello Snow Lakers: I hope you had a good week. Hope you had a wonderful July 4th. Ours was great - my daughter, one of the grandchildren, and the three great-grandsons came down. The kids enjoyed the water and it was so pretty at this time. I was glad to see quite a few people in the lake also.
I hope Mr. Sam Sweeden, who had a hip replacement recently, is recuperating fast. If you know of anyone sick or needing help please call Sue Wooley Graves, 224-3264. If you know of someone I have missed, please call me at 224-3913.
As I reported last week, the Bluegrass Festival June 25 was a big success. The Bluegrass bands, Kay Bain from Tupelo and the Country band were great. We really enjoyed the music. Thanks again to all the volunteers who worked the concessions, the Pork Butt Cookers, Community Centers BBQ meals, greeters, boat parade and boat rides, parking, security, the MC, the persons who set up the equipment, and etc. My only regret is that we didnt have fireworks!!! Hopefully next year we will. Please express your opinion!
Remember: put your 911 numbers on your house! Put your lot numbers on your boats and gas cans! Boat season is here! I loved seeing so many boats on the lake this weekend. Thanks. (Our motor wont start.)
I would like to recognize the Landscape Society for all the pretty flowers and flowering trees that are blooming now. They are beautiful - thanks for all the work.
The Community Center is having a garage sale on October 1, so start saving your discards. All the proceeds will go to making improvements on the building and grounds. For contributions, call Ms. Emily Koen, 224-8707; or Ms. Joan Martinez, 224-8032.
Our Quote. From the booklet Gentle Thoughts. The little troubles and worries of life, so many of which we meet, may be as stumbling blocks in our way, or we may make them stepping stones to a noble character and to Heaven.
Have a good week, and hope to see you next week.
