July 7

  • 4-H MEETING Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library at 6 p.m. Bake sale will be discussed. Bring your dues, coupons and Betty Crocker points. Anyone interested in joining, you are invited to this meeting.

July 8

  • TRYOUTS If you would like to become a Holly Springs High School “Hawk” cheerleader or mascot, please come to the HSHS auditorium, Fri., July 8, 6 p.m.
  • SECOND TIME AROUND The Marshall County Humane Society’s thrift store, Second Time Around, located next to Bailey Printing in Holly Springs, will be open Fri. from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 662-564-2900 for pick-up information on your donation.

July 9

  • REUNION The Craine family annual reunion, 2:30 p.m. until at the Watson Community Center, Hwy. 309 S, south of Byhalia. All family and friends are invited to attend.
  • BANQUET Jones Grove will have their pastor and wife’s banquet in the fellowship hall, 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale. Anniversary will continue on Wed., July 13 with Rev. Robert Bowers and True Faith Church from Piperton, Tenn.; Thurs., July 14 with Rev. Joe Powell and Bell Grove from Chulahoma; Fri., July 15 with Rev. Love and Greater Love Church from Holly Springs; Sat., July 16 with gospel singing; and climax on Sunday, July 17 with Rev. Gifton Jones and Jerusalem Church from Memphis. Everyone is invited.
  • BAKE SALE Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will hold their annual bake sale at the Super Wal-Mart, 8 a.m. - until the desserts run out. We accept donations. Recruitment booth will be available to anyone who wants to join.
  • SINGING New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy. 72, Slayden, will have a gospel singing, Saturday night July 9, starting at 7 p.m. Featured group will be The Ross Family from Mifflin, Tenn. and Bro. Faron Ash from Hickory Flat will bring a message. Bro. Billy Adair and congregation invite everyone to attend. Fellowship supper will follow.
  • CEMETERY MEETING Red Banks Cemetery Association quarterly meeting will be held Sat., July 9 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Singing, Emmanuel Baptist Church, S. Red Banks Rd, featuring Passing Through as guest singer. July 9, eat at 5 p.m., singing at 6 p.m. Everyone invited.
  • STEAK DINNER Community Temple will host a steak dinner on behalf of Love Day for Pastor Frank and Denise Moore. Donation at the door. Located off Mt. Zion. Sis. Arlexka Hardaway, sponsor.
  • MUSICAL Chulahoma MB Church will host a pre-anniversary musical in honor of their pastor and first lady, Pastor John E. and Carla Booker Jr., Sat., July 9, 7 p.m. Host of choirs and groups in attendance with special guests, “The Stars of Faith.”

  • REVIVAL Emory Independent Methodist Church, 872 Watson Road, Byhalia, will have their revival Sun., July 10, through Wed., July 13. Sunday services are at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., and Mon. through Wed. the services are at 7 p.m. The Rev. Bill Moseley from South Carolina is the guest pastor.
  • PRE-LOVE PROGRAM Community Temple will have a pre-love program on behalf of Pastor Frank and Denise Moore, 2:30 p.m. Guest church, House of the Lord, Elder J.W. Gray, guest speaker.
  • ANNIVERSARY Chulahoma MB Church will celebrate their pastor and wife’s fourth anniversary, Sun., July 10, 3 p.m. with Pastor Mark Davis and the Wyatte Community Church as special guests.
  • PASTOR & WIFE APPRECIATION PROGRAM for Rev. Eric and Sharon Shields at Walton Chapel CME Church in Waterford will be held at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Ronnie Franklin from Greenwood. Come and celebrate with us.

July 11

  • YOUTH REVIVAL The first annual youth revival will be held at Hopewell No. 1 MB Church, July 11-15, 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Watson will be the evangelist for the week. Rev. Leroy James, host pastor.

July 12

  • REVIVAL The Church of the Living Gospel at Watson will be in revival July 12-14, 7:30 nightly. Bro. Wiley from Georgia will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited.

July 13

  • SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM The Marshall County Humane Society’s low cost spay/neuter program will be open at 646 Old Hwy 78 E. Call 252-6196 for the necessary appointment.
  • 24 HOUR SHUT-IN The Power of Prayer Ministries will be conducting a 24 hour shut-in and 7 p.m. nightly services at Community Temple Holiness beginning July 13-15. Different speaker each night. Host pastor is Elder Frank Moore, 851-3388.

  • IDA WELLS FESTIVAL The Ida B. Wells Arts and Crafts Family Festival and birthday celebration will be held at the museum, 220 N. Randolph St., July 15-17, 9 a.m. until the music stops! Arts, crafts, creative dance, music, soul food and a walk through history. Artist and vendor booth space available. For more info. call 252-3232.

  • School Day Uniform-Give-Away (pants and polo shirts). Sponsored by the Eddie Lee Smith and the Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Clubs, will take place on the parking lot of Dreamland, 8 a.m. We are asking the community and individuals to support the efforts of the children by donating any uniforms you have. Drop off sites are WKRA, Ebony and Ivory Beauty Salon, Perfect Touch and Carlisle’s Big Star.
  • GIANT YARD SALE Sponsored by the Holly Springs Garden Club. Sat., July 30, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Montrose on Salem Ave. Household items, furniture, linens, clothing, appliances, etc. Y’all come1 Don’t miss this one.
