  • GRANDPARENT’S DAY H.W. Byers PTA is hosting their annual Grandparent’s Day, April 28, 10:30 a.m. All grandparents are invited to come and visit and eat lunch with your grandchild. Rev. Morris Stephens, PTA president.
  • MEETING Holly Springs Primary School will have their monthly PTA meeting, April 28, 5:30 p.m. in the activity building. Business of importance. All parents are urged to attend.

  • SADDLE CLUB SHOW Briarwood Saddle Club meets every Fri., 7:30 p.m. at Thomas Arena. Everyone is cordially invited to come.
  • BATTLE OF THE BANDS Holly Springs High School, Fri., April 29, at the gym, 7 p.m. Many bands are invited. Come out and support the Mighty Hawks Band!

  • CHOIR REUNION Finley Grove MB Church will have a choir reunion of reunions, Sat., April 30, 6 p.m. 2203 North West St. Everyone is invited.   • BROWN BAG LUNCH At the Marshall County Library, 12 noon. Chelius Carter will give a talk on his work with the American archaeological excavation of the ancient city-site “Abila of the Decapolis” in northern Jordan. Bring a sandwich; drink and dessert provided.

  • SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM The Marshall County Humane Society’s low cost spay/neuter program will be held at the permanent site, 646 Old Hwy 78 E. Call 252-6196 for the necessary appointment.

May 6

  • BANQUET The Lessye Lee Davis Banquet will be held at Rust College, Shaw Cafeteria, 7 p.m. The speaker is Dr. David L. Beckley. All members must attend, take off work if necessary. Tickets: $15 to be paid by April 29.
  • VFW FISH PLATES Fish and barbecue plates will be served at the VFW, May 6, beginning at 10 a.m. until 1. Also we will be taking orders for whole Boston butts, call 224-5101.
  • SECOND TIME AROUND The Marshall County Humane Society’s thrift store, Second Time Around, located next to Bailey Printing in Holly Springs, will be open Fri. from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 662-564-2900 for pickup information.

  • Pentecost Sunday, May 15, 11 a.m. A new church, a new beginning, Bethel Temple, at Whispering Woods Hotel and Conference Center pavilion, 11200 East Goodman Rd. Lee A. Donelson Sr., pastor, teacher.
  • Musical Jubilee -- May 16, 6:30 p.m. at Whispering Woods Pavilion, featuring the New Swan Silvertones of Pittsburgh, Pa. and others. Free admission, love offering will be taken. All are invited.
  • LOVE DAY Pastor and wife love day at St. Mark MB Church in Lake Center. Guest speaker will be Dr. Donald Anderson of Little Zion MB Church in Corinth.
  • Spring Revival at First Baptist Church, Byhalia, will be May 15-18. Guest speaker will be P.J. Scott, retired pastor of First Baptist Olive Branch and Minister of Music Bill Britton of First Baptist Olive Branch. There will be a potluck lunch following the Sunday morning service. Sunday services will be 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, 7 p.m.

  • VBS Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church is holding their Vacation Bible School on May 22 -26 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. A light meal will be provided each night. This year’s theme is “Ranch House Kids: Adventure of the Open Door.” You will need to register by May 14. Please call our church office to register at 662-851-7301. Open to ages three and older.
