Lake News Sue Shears Items needed for upcoming benefit yard sale Hello Snow Lakers: I hope you had a good week. If you have a garden of any kind Im sure you are busy. We cant seem to get the leaves out of the drifts, the grass sprayed, the limbs picked up, and the soil amended. My husband started to plant some lilies by digging holes and putting them in (and I know lilies are easy to grow) but I wanted the entire area - 12 x 15 - worked, so I mentioned, please dont do that - work the entire area, add the compost and garden soil and then plant the lilies. Well, he didnt like that, so he said why dont you do it your way? So I did, and my feet sure hurt the next day. I must find a better way to approach the subject next time. Did you see the picture of the Garrisons yard in the local paper last week? It was beautiful. Joe McCrady is home recouperating. Good luck, Joe. Mike Moseley is having surgery in Philadelphia the end of April. Our prayers are with you. I met a new resident (to me) last week and she was talking about the time her husband fell from a ladder, working on the house. They found him hanging by one foot. I think her name is Ruth Jackson and her husband is Donald. They live on Snow Lake Drive. She wanted to express her appreciation to those who responded to the accident. Her husband is recovering nicely. If you know of anyone who is sick or needs help please call Sue Wooley Graves, 224-3264. If you know of someone I have missed, please call me at 224-3913. Dont forget! We need items for the Snow Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary Garage Sale on May 7, 8 a.m. at the Ashland Discount Outlet on Hwy. 4. Save your discards for us. We only have a few weeks. You can take them directly to the store or call me at 224-3913. Also, on the same day we will have a bake sale at Websters Grocery beginning at 8 a.m. Someone will call asking for your donation of a cake - if no one calls, just call Jane Edwards, 224-3435, and tell her you want to make one.
