Pilgrimage slated for next week, April 15-17 The big event is set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 15-17. It is sponsored by the Holly Springs Garden Club. The Royal Court will be presented during the opening of the Pilgrimage at Montrose at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 15. Homes on the tour this year include Montrose 1858, Finley Place 1856, Crump Place 1837, The Terrace 1842 and Hilltop 1858. The Pilgrimage will also include the grand opening of The Walter Place Estate, Cottages and Gardens. There will also be tours of historic churches, a candlelight cemetery tour and wine and cheese reception, carriage rides, luncheons and other enjoyable activities. For more information, contact the Holly Springs Tourism Bureau, 252-2515, or Susie Murphy at 252-6479. Tickets can be purchased at the Marshall County Library during the Pilgrimage. Tickets will not be for sale at individual homes on the tour. Next weeks newspaper will include a special Pilgrimage section. Design
contest open in conjunction with Kudzu Fest Come up with an original design to be used for the 17th Annual Kudzu Festival t-shirts using kudzu in the design. This year the featured events (as of this date) will be a carnival, rodeo and gospel jamboree. (Hint: these events can be used in the design.) Festival dates this year are June 2-4. The winning entry will win $100 cash and Kudzu Festival tickets and t-shirts will feature the design. Submit entries to the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce at 148 E.
