Bluegrass celebration set for June 25

Hello Snow Lakers: I hope you had a good week. Our daughter has just moved into a new condo and we have been helping her to get settled. I hope it will be soon; driving to and from Memphis is getting to be a chore.

Joe McCrady and John Pierpont entered the Holly Springs hospital a few weeks ago for tests and observation. Both are still in the hospital but I think they will be home soon. Joe and John, hurry and get well. We are happy to hear that Peggy McCrady will not have surgery at this time; they will continue to observe her. Mary Lorenz is doing better since she fell last week. She is at home recuperating. Also, Walter Lorenz, Mary’s husband is back in senior care in the nursing home. Good luck to all of our sick folks. If you know of anyone who is sick or needs help please call Sue Wooley Graves 224-3264. If you know of someone I have missed, please call me at 224-3913.

Don’t forget! We need items for the Snow Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary on May 7, at the Ashland Discount Outlet on Hwy. 4. Save your discards for us. You can take them directly to the store or call me at 224-3913, or Jane Edwards at 224-3435.

At this time I would like to congratulate our fire chief, Flake Farmer; assistant fire chief, Harry Leuer; and L.J. Lyons for securing a grant toward the purchase of a new pumper and equipment. It will be the state-of-the-art in fire trucks - eight feet longer than the old truck - more up to date accessories - and safer equipment placement. We hope to see it in a few months. If you are interested in knowing more about the fire department and first responders, come to one of the meetings on the first and third Monday of each month. We are always in need of new firemen.

The Bluegrass Committee is getting in full swing for our celebration on June 25. More details will follow. However, if you are a crafter and want to reserve a booth, please call me at 662-224-3913.

Don’t forget to buy your cook- books!

Coming Events:
Tuesday, April 5 - 6:30 p.m. - Neighborhood Watch Meeting; everyone is invited.

Thursday, April 7 - 6:30 p.m. - Town Meeting

Our Quote. From the booklet “Gentle Thoughts” “I’ll not willingly offend, nor be easily offended; what’s amiss I’ll strive to mend, and endure what can’t be mended - by Issac Watt .”

Have a good week, and hope to see you next week.
