Holly Springs’ students get special recognition

Each month, the principals and superintendent recommend staff, students, parents, or community members for special recognition at the regular monthly board meeting. The Holly Springs Board of Trustees was pleased to honor two outstanding students during the March school board meeting.

Johnaye Jeffries was recommended by Irene Walton, Intermediate School principal.

“Johnaye is a dedicated sixth grade student, and her attitude and behavior make her an excellent candidate for school wide recognition. Out of the 127 sixth grade students, Johnaye was recommended by her teachers because of her continuous quest for excellence in all subjects and for the wonderful disposition she demonstrates each and every day.

“Not only has Johnaye maintained the averages needed to be recognized as an honor roll student each nine weeks, she continuously sets an example for every student at the Intermediate School when it comes to respect for herself, her classmates, and her teachers,” stated Walton. Congratulations Johnaye!

Jylisa Luellen, a kindergarten student was recommended by Joseph Stone, Primary School principal. “Jylisa has had many challenges in her five short years and should be commended for how well she has adjusted. She has overcome cancer and is adapting to a prosthetic leg. She is an exuberant person full of life and optimism. We are very proud of her accomplishments and admire her spunk!” stated Stone. Congratulations, Jylisa.
