Wednesday

  • SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM The Marshall County Humane Society’s low cost spay/neuter program will be held at the permanent site, 646 Old Hwy 78 E. Call 252-6196 for the necessary appointment.
  • OPEN HOUSE Holly Springs Primary School will have their open house/report card pick-up from 1:00-6:00 p.m. All parents are urged to please come out and pick up your child’s report card and talk with their teachers.

Thursday

  • MEETING The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. We are recruiting new members. If you are interested, please call Mary Hicks at 252-5920. Also preparing for trip to Houston and Starkville.
  • BINGO Collins Hurdle Post No. 5697 VFW has bingo every Thurs. Doors open at 6 p.m.
  • MEETING Marshall County Forestry Association will hold their first quarterly meeting of 2005 on Thursday evening, March 31 in the Lodge of Wall Doxey State Park. Registration will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the meeting starting promptly at 6:30 p.m. Arbor Day Poster Contest winners will be recognized prior to the program on Firewise. All forestry landowners are encouraged to attend this meeting. For more information and to register for the meeting, contact the Marshall Co. Extension Service at 662-252-3541.
  • ANNUALS FOR SALE Potts Camp School annuals are on sale through March 31 for $35 each. Checks must be made to Potts Camp School. Call the school for more info., 333-6354.
  • MEETING H.W. Byers hosts meeting in the school cafeteria at 7 p.m. Everyone invited to attend.
  • DO NOT FORGET - The Holly Springs Primary School PTA meeting at 5:30 in the activity building. Business of importance will be discussed.

  • FISH FRY Cayce Vol. Fire Dept. is hosting their spring fish fry, Fri., April 1 at the fire station, 30 Lee Creek Rd. Fish will be cooked by Sheriff Kenny Dickerson and served from 5-7:30 p.m. Eat in or take out. Tickets may be purchased at A-1, Gossets Auto Parts, Little Place, Carol’s Beauty Shop or from any firefighter.
  • FISH FRY Ida B. Wells Museum, Fri., April 1. Place orders at 252-3232. Carry-outs only.
  • SECOND TIME AROUND The Marshall County Humane Society’s thrift store, Second Time Around, located next to Bailey Printing in Holly Springs, will be open Fri. from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and Sat., 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Call 662-564-2900 for pickup information.
  • RUMMAGE SALE April 1 and 2 - Friday and Saturday. Rummage sale to benefit the Watson Volunteer Fire Department. 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. rain or shine. Go to the four-way stop at Watson. Turn west onto Watson Road and go 1/2 mile, just past the firehouse on the right. Follow the signs.
  • FISH FRY There will be a fish fry for Ms. Edna Wells, Social Service Director at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab, 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Pick-up can be between the times mentioned. Kenny Dickerson will be preparing the fish. $6.00 per plate includes fish, slaw, hushpuppies, fries, dessert, canned drinks. Any questions call 662-252-1141.

  • YARD SALE Church of the Living Gospel, located behind Ed’s Pawn Shop in Watson, from 8 a.m. until.
  • SINGING Holly Hills Baptist Church Saturday night singing, 6 p.m. The featured group will be The Reed Family from Ripley, Tenn. Donnie Reed will be preaching. Bro. Frank Feathers and congregation invite all. Fellowship will follow.
  • RUMMAGE SALE The Heritage Apostolic youth group will have their first annual rummage sale fundraiser at Thomas Arena, 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • BROWN BAG LUNCH At the Marshall County Library, 12 noon. Kitty Lacy, volunteer coordinator for Unity Hospice will be the guest speaker. Bring a sandwich; drink and dessert provided.
  • WOMEN’S DAY PROGRAM Mt. Teamer CME Church will have their annual Women’s Day program, 3 p.m. on Sun., April 3. Everyone is invited. Guest speaker, Rev. Linda Rodgers of Tupelo. Pastor, Gwendolyn Nelson.

April 6

  • “40 DAYS OF PURPOSE” The Slayden Baptist Church presents “40 Days of Purpose” based on the book “The Purpose Driven Life” by Rick Warren. April 6, 5:30-8:30 p.m. will be the kick-off supper/rally. April 10-May 22, 10 a.m.-12 noon, Bible study and sermons exploring man’s purpose in life. For more info. call 252-4559.

  • FLEA MARKET Free Springs United Methodist Church will be hosting their annual spring fling flea market at the church. Vendors are welcomed for a small charge.
