Springs News By Henderson Milan Samuel Chapel plans 140th anniversary Those who attended the Mississippi Retired Education Personnel meeting March 8 in Jackson from Marshall County Retired Education Personnel were Mrs. Laverne Jones, president; Miss Mary Ruth Street, secretary; Mrs. Della Phillips, mistress of ceremony; Mrs. Louise Plaxico, nominating chairman; Mrs. Mary Milan, former president; Mrs. Helen W. Newsom, hospitality; Mrs. Maggie Adams and Mrs. Susie Matthews, ushers; Mrs. Bernice Martin, musician; Mrs. Florence Coleman, member. Those who traveled by car: Mrs. Laverne Jones, Mrs. Helen Newsom, Miss Mary Ruth Street and Mrs. Susie Matthews. The rest of the teachers rode in a van, driven by Rev. Van Rayford. Samuel Chapel Church will celebrate their 140th anniversary. Ripley COGIC will be their guests April 24. Marshall County Retired Education Personnel will meet April 8, 1 p.m. at Dreamland. Hopewell No. 1 members who have birthdays in March are: Leshell Kimmons, 1; Shun Greer; Don Waller, 10; Clare Faulkner, 14; Clyde Boga, 18; Penell Kimmons, 18; Calvin Griffin, 26; Curressia Walton, 26; Verlease Hoey, 27; Rev.
