Acme recognizes Crumb

Kevin “Buck” Crumb, a 14-year employee, is the recipient of the Acme Brick, Holly Springs Plant’s Outstanding Contribution Award for the first quarter of 2005.

Jay Isenhour, plant manager, presented Crumb with the award on Tuesday of last week, recognizing him as the leadman over the clay preparation and manufacturing departments.

“Buck’s know-how and can-do attitude are among his most valuable assets he brings to his job as leadman,” said Isenhour. “He lead an effort to capture and re-cycle sand coating additives that ultimately showed a drastic reduction in usage, less production by-product and a cost reduction that can be measured.”

Isenhour said Crumb’s leadership and drive is part of the “glue” that holds the team together and he is highly regarded by his co-workers for his abilities and character.

“Buck is a very dedicated employee and an individual who is constantly striving to do his job better each day,” said Isenhour. “He has discipline for paying attention to detail and is a person who believes he can always improve. He is an example of ‘Attitude is Everything.’ ”

The quarterly recognition of employees by Acme is designed to recognize, honor, and award employees for individual or group contributions that provide positive results in cost savings, service, quality, morale, or projecting a winning image.

“The objective of this program is to promote, project, stimulate individual or group resources through involvement and participation to build and nurture the company’s number one asset, its employees,” Isenhour said.
