Wednesday

  • REVIVAL The Apostolic Church of Jesus located at 178 Stonewall Road in Byhalia, will be in revival March 9-12 with Evangelist Coma Rivers from Petal. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Pastor Garland Loveless and church members invite everyone.
  • SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM The Marshall County Humane Society’s low cost spay/neuter program will be held at the permanent site, 646 Old Hwy 78 E. Call 252-6196 for the necessary appointment.

  • FFA MEETING The Potts Camp FFA alumni meeting will be at the Potts Camp School ag building, 7 p.m.
  • MEETING CHANGE The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Holly Springs School District, normally held on the second Tues. of each month, has been scheduled for Thurs., Mar. 10, 6 p.m. at the central office boardroom, 840 Hwy 178 East, Holly Springs.
  • MEETING The Lessye Lee Davis 4-H Club will meet at the Marshall County Library, 6 p.m. We are recruiting new members. If you are interested, please call Mary Hicks at 252-5920.

  • APPRECIATION PROGRAM Mt. Sinai COGIC of Mt. Pleasant will be having an appreciation program for their musicians: Bro. Curtis Pritchard Jr., Bro. Michael Smith and Bro. Jonathan Pritchard. Everyone is invited. Pastor is Elder Curtis Pritchard.

Other Ministerial Alliances will be special guests. Pastor Leroy James HSMC Ministerial Alliance president and vice moderator Pastor James Green is the chairperson.

  • SINGING PROGRAM Newell Chapel CME male chorus is hosting a singing program, Mar. 20, 6 p.m. A host of male choirs will be present. Everyone is invited.

  • 25th ANNIVERSARY FESTIVAL You are invited as Friendship Assembly of God kicks off their Hispanic services with Ken and Diana Troutman of Peru. March 24

  • FFA MEETING The Potts Camp FFA alumni meeting will be at the Potts Camp School ag building, 7 p.m.
  • MAUNDY THURSDAY Victoria and Red Banks United Methodist Churches will observe Maundy Thursday, March 24, with a special service of Holy Communion at 6 p.m. in the Victoria UMC sanctuary. Tenebrae, or “darkness” will follow, presenting an extended Scriptural meditation on the Passion of Jesus, based on St. Matthew’s Gospel. As the service progresses, the Tenebrae candles are extinquished gradually, reflecting the physical and emotional pain of the Passion. Eventually, the sanctuary is left momentarily in darkness. The observance will close with the stripping of the altar and the draping of the cross. The public is cordially invited to attend. For more info. call the pastor, Rev. Pat Elmore, 838-9708.

  • SUNRISE SERVICE Mt. Moriah MB Church, 3193 Marianna Rd. will have Easter sunrise service, Sun., Mar. 27, 8 a.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Tony Wilkins from Nichols Chapel CME Church.
  • SUNRISE SERVICE Victoria and Red Banks United Methodist Churches will begin Easter Sunday, March 27 with a sunrise service at 7 a.m. in the Victoria UMC sanctuary. Breakfast will follow in the fellowship hall. Red Banks UMC will hold its regular worship service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. There will not be an 11 a.m. service at Victoria UMC.
