  • NO SINGING New Hope Baptist Church, Hwy 72, Slayden, will NOT have singing Jan. 8 due to watch night services, Fri., Dec. 31.
  • SINGING Emmanuel Baptist Church will have gospel singing Jan. 8, with Rocky and The Chosen Few. Fellowship at 5 p.m., singing follows.
  • MEETING Red Banks Cemetery Association quarterly meeting, Sat., Jan. 8, 9:30 a.m. at Red Banks Baptist Church.
  • MEETING The Marshall County Republicans will meet at Northcentral EPA, Hwy 309, Byhalia at 10 a.m. on Jan. 8. The public is invited.

  • CONFERENCE Barton First Baptist Church hosts Abundant Life Conference Sunday through Wednesday. Services will be held Sunday 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Church is located at 523 Quinn Road. Services directed by Charles Smith Ministries.

  • BROWN BAG LUNCH At the Marshall County Library, 12 noon. Program will be by Patsy Brumfield, news editor of the Tupelo Daily Journal. Bring a sandwich; drink and dessert provided.
  • GRASS ROOTS SESSION POSTPONED Due to the vast amount of business to be conducted at the Jan. 11 meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Holly Springs School District, the Grass Roots Session will not be placed on the agenda. The Grass Roots Session will be placed back on the agenda for the regular meeting in Feb.
